It’ll soon be time for me to hit the road again!

As I mentioned in my New Year’s resolutions, I was looking to continue my travels within the next couple of months and yesterday I started putting some solid plans in place. In other words; I booked myself a one way flight to Bangkok on the 22nd February. This includes an 11 hour stint from Amsterdam on Air China, so I’ll be hoping for some decent grub (I think I’m the only person who genuinely enjoys aeroplane food…)

Continuing my travels is something that my mum was always determined for me to do, and she was even more determined for me to see South East Asia so I’m particularly happy to be doing those two things! After discussing it with family and friends, I know it’s the right move for me.

My mum always wanted me to go to Thailand anyway…

I’ve no idea how long I’ll be in Bangkok, or where I’ll go after, and I absolutely cannot wait! There’s a cool music cafe/hostel that I’ve got my eye on, but that’s about it.

Oh aye, there’s also the small problem that they’re apparently rioting there at the moment too, as if my life hadn’t been eventful enough this last year. So this might obviously have a say in the matter. I’ve even got a “Plan B” in place which involves flying to Chiang Mai on my day of arrival if the rioting gets any worse. I know, changed man or what?!

So, it appears the next month will involve lots of saving (or attempting), researching visas and immunisations and saying goodbyes again. I might even need to write a list, heaven forbid.

It’s going to be very different this time round. My life has changed so much since this time last year when I was preparing for Australia. Needless to say there may be a few more emotional hurdles to get over. In the long run though it’s an adventure I can’t wait for and I’m very keen to see what the future holds. I’m also looking forward to catching up with some friends from my previous travels.

Look out Asia, I’m coming for you!
