Hi Jack, great blog! I was reading on http://www.bemytravelmuse.com/chinese-visa-in-hanoi/#comment-233790 that you were going to get your Chinese visa in Hanoi. Please let me know how did it go. I heard mixed reports that they stopped issuing visas for foreigners. We are about to travel through SEA finishing of in Beijing and need to book the tickets etc. Anything you can share is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Sadly I can’t be of much help as we were also a little confused about these things, so we flew to Hong Kong instead and got our visas through an agency there before crossing the border into Shenzhen. You can read about that here:
